750d xDrive is the triple-turbo high-performance diesel flagship.

ActiveHybrid 7 F04 — phase 1

Original 2009/2010 system:

• upgraded twin-turbo V8;
• three-phase synchronous electric motor;
• 8-speed automatic;
• lithium-ion battery;
• system output 342 kW / 465 hp;
• system torque 700 Nm;
• 0–100: 4.9 s.

BMW called it a mild-hybrid concept in the original launch context.

ActiveHybrid 7 — phase 2, 2012

The facelift fundamentally changed the hybrid drivetrain:

• turbo I6 combustion engine architecture;
• electric motor;
• system output about 354 hp;
• system torque 450 Nm;
• 0–100: 5.7 s;
• pure-electric operation possible.

Therefore ActiveHybrid 7 V8 → ActiveHybrid 7 I6 is a mandatory powertrain split.
